Tournaments for Your Team

At the Fargo Basketball Academy, we know that real game experience is just as important to a player's development as consistent practice. We want to help our players to have as many opportunities to improve their skills as possible, so we've compiled a list of tournaments to provide coaches with an easy reference. We are not the contact for any of these tournaments, but we are continuously updating the list.  FEBRUARY 2025

• FEBRUARY 21-23: TRF USP TOURNAMENT [5-on-5]- Thief River Falls, MN. Grades 3-8 Boys and Grades 3-8 Girls. Registration Fee: $200. Registration Deadline: Saturday, February 1, 2025. Concessions at each location.  3rd grade plays Friday night only. 4th-5th grade will play Saturday only.  6th grade will usually play Saturday.  7th-9th grade will play Sunday. Awards for 1st-3rd place (and 5th place if an 8 team bracket). 
• FEBRUARY 22: 37th ANNUAL VCPR WINTER SHOOTOUT [5-on-5]- Valley City, ND. Grades 4-8 Boys and Grades 4-8 Girls.  Registration Fee: $200. 3 game guarantee. Registration Deadline: Tuesday, February 11, 2025. Register online here. Tournament Contact: Matthew Brandvold by phone or email. Additional Information: Located across 4 facilities and 8 courts. Locations are Gaukler Family Wellness Center, Valley City Rec Center, Valley City High School and Hi-Liner Activity Center. Both A and B divisions in each grade. Awards handed out to 1st and 2nd place in each division.  This tournament is a state qualifier for the North Dakota State Basketball Championships. 
• FEBRUARY 22-23: MN HEAT BOYS BORDER BATTLE [5-on-5]- Forest Lake, MN. Grades 3-6 Boys. Registration Fee: $425. 3 game guarantee (4 games for out of state teams). Registration Deadline: Friday, February 14, 2025. Register online here. Tournament Contact: Willie Vang by email. Additional Information: Games played at Forest Lake High School. All 12 courts in the same facility. 150-200+ teams each year. Representation from 3-5 states and occasionally Canada. 4 levels of play in each grade (All Star, A, B, C) to ensure everyone gets competitive games. Great warm up for MYAS state, held the weekend after. All teams play 1 day only (except all-star levels). Spectators do not pay admission to view games.
• FEBRUARY 22-23: SPUD SHOOTOUT [5-on-5]- Moorhead, MN. Grades 3-7 Boys and Grades 3-8 Girls. Registration Fee: $185. 3 game guarantee. Registration Deadline: Thursday, February 13, 2025. Register online here. Tournament Contact: Mark Perry by phone or email. Additional Information: Games played at Horizon Middle School, 3601 12th Ave South, Moorhead. Adult Referees. A and B division, when applicable. Concessions at both locations. T-shirts for sale.  This is a 1-day tournament, some age groups will play on Saturday and other age groups will play on Sunday.

• MARCH 1-2: 10TH ANNUAL ABERDEEN RONCALLI SNOWBALL CLASSIC [5-on-5]- Aberdeen, SD. Grades 2-6 Boys. Registration Fee: $150. 3 game guarantee. Registration Deadline: Friday, February 14, 2025. • MARCH 1-2: GROVER ATHLETIC CLUB 2025 WINTER CLASSIC [5-on-5]- Fargo, ND. Grades 3-6 Boys and Grades 3-6 Girls.  Registration Fee: $200. 3 game guarantee. Additional Information: Games played at Oak Grove Lutheran School (Gorder Gym, Elementary Gym and Scheels Performing Arts Gym) and Fargo Basketball Academy. All games will be played on full courts. • MARCH 15: SISSETON BOYS YOUTH TOURNAMENT [5-on-5]- Sisseton, SD. Grades 3-6 Boys. Registration Fee: $125. 3 Game Guarantee. • MARCH 15: NORTHWOOD PARK DISTRICT/THUNDER BB TOURNAMENT [3-on-3]- Northwood, ND. • MARCH 29-30: MBBC SPRING SPECTACULAR [5-on-5]- Mandan, ND. APRIL 2025

• APRIL 4-6: JUNIOR GRAND AM [5-on-5]- Grand Forks, ND. Grades 3-12 Boys and Grades 3-12 Girls. Registration Fee: $220. 3 Game Guarantee. Registration Deadline: Sunday, March 23, 2025. Additional Information: Games played at Betty Engelstad Sioux Center, Alerus Center, UND Wellness Center, Choice Health and Fitness and local high schools and middle schools. 2025 Pacesetter Qualifier Tournament: North Dakota youth teams in Grades 3-9 are invited to qualify for the Pacesetter Great Five-State Championship in Minneapolis through participation in the Jr. Grand Am on April 4-6. One or two North Dakota teams at each grade level from the Jr. Grand Am will earn bids to play in this 8-team championship, which includes a minimum of one game on the main Target Center floor - the home court of the NBA Timberwolves and WNBA Lynx. The five states providing teams are ND, SD, IA, WI and MN. 
• APRIL 27: 3 ON 3 TOURNAMENT: VALLEY CITY STATE UNIVERSITY [3-ON-3]- Valley City, ND. Grades 3-12 Boys and Grades 3-12 Girls. Registration Fee: $100. 3 Game Guarantee. • JUNE 14-15: 1ST ANNUAL JESSE JACOBSON MEMORIAL REGIONAL TOURNAMENT [5-ON-5]- Fargo, ND. Grades 6-12+ Girls. Registration Fee: $380. 4 Game Guarantee. Registration Deadline: Monday, June 9, 2025. This is formally the NDPRO Basketball Regional Tournament. Concessions offered. Certified referees. Championship shirts for 1st place. This is an AAU tournament.) Divisions include: 12U-17U, high school, middle school, 6th grade and college.
• JUNE 17: CLASS B BATTLE FOR THE BUBBLE [5-ON-5]- Valley City, ND. Grades 7-12 Boys. Registration Fee: $200. 3 Game Guarantee. Registration Deadline: Tuesday, June 10, 2025. Register online here. JULY 2025

• JULY 18-19: BATTLE BY THE BEACH [3-on-3]- Detroit Lakes, MN. Grades 3-8 Boys and Grades 3-8 Girls. Registration Fee: $100. 4 Game Guarantee. Registration Deadline: Thursday, July 10, 2025. All games played in one day with a very efficient schedule. Get in, play and be on your way. Pick your day, or play both tournaments both days. • JULY 18-19: BATTLE BY THE BEACH [5-on-5]- Detroit Lakes, MN. Grades 9-12 Boys and Grades 9-12 Girls. Registration Fee: $200. 3 Game Guarantee. Registration Deadline: Thursday, July 10, 2025.
